I am a Barrister at Culwulla Chambers, located in Sydney, New South Wales and available to take briefs to appear at mentions, interim hearings and final hearings as required, for both parties and on behalf of the Independent Children's Lawyer in any registry, including on circuit.
I am also available to conduct mediations (parenting and/or property) and family dispute resolution, including issuing s60I certificates.
In my career as a solicitor prior to coming to the bar, I was the instructing solicitor in the High Court case regarding the parentage status of sperm donors, Masson & Parsons & Ors. I acted for the Appellant, Mr Masson, who was successful in his case, resulting in him being recognised as the legal parent of his daughter.
I represent clients in family law parenting and property proceedings in the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia, across Australia. I also appear in the Supreme Court of NSW in family provisions and surrogacy/adoption matters.
I understand the gravity and importance of the work I undertake on behalf of my clients. I always strive to provide my clients with a high level of commitment and care, acknowledging that often I am assisting them at the most difficult time in their life.
I am passionate about approaching matters in a conciliatory way, focusing on avoiding costly and uncertain litigation. I believes that the majority of matters can be settled amicably with the right care and assistance.
I also has a keen interest in the area of sociology and social theory, borne out of my university studies. My knowledge in this area gives me a well-rounded understanding of law in the wider social perspective, including what motivates people’s actions and behaviour. I believe this assists in understanding the best way to approach, and ultimately resolve matters.
