The Adelaide legal market leads the nation when it comes to lawyer affordability in the property and real estate space perhaps rivaled only by the quality smaller firms and specialist property law firm offerings in the West.

Over 80% of Adelaide’s property lawyers set their hourly rate under $500 per hour and a significant number of these individuals feature prominently in our rankings.

Alternative Pricing

With such a competitive level of pricing on the hourly rate front it’s perhaps unsurprising that Adelaide sits slightly behind the rest of the country when it comes to the adoption of alternative pricing methods in the property space (albeit that some 87% of the market still use alternative pricing methods).

Fixed price was the most common method of alternative pricing with 100% of firms using such a model and some 69% of firms using a capped fees model. Adelaide’s property lawyers led the nation in the use of retainer arrangements for their services with some 54% of firms using this model The use of performance/outcome based fees sat in line with figures across the rest of Australia with some 23% fo firms using this model.
