Nathan was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2010 and commencing practice at the private Bar in 2019.
Nathan regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court and State Courts, practicing predominantly in family law, domestic violence, and child protection matters.
Nathan is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) who is often requested to mediate in family law, civil, employment and estate disputes. Nathan’s alternative dispute resolution practice also includes mediating throughout regional Queensland and developing an Adult Restorative Justice Conferencing (Justice mediations) practice, where suitable.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Nathan served as a Naval Officer, Infantry Officer, and Legal Officer in the Australian Defence Force. He also previously served the State of Queensland as a Constable in the Queensland Police Service.
Nathan completed his legal training at Bond University, graduating a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in criminology and international relations. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) which he completed at Charles Sturt University.
When not otherwise engaged in legal work, Nathan has a keen interest in assisting the development of the next generation of lawyers. Nathan has taught Negotiation at Bond University and is a Sessional Academic at QUT.
