Tyson Brown is a leading Criminal and Traffic lawyer representing clients throughout New South Wales and the ACT. With thousands of successful cases and satisfied clients, Tyson is widely recognised for his expert legal knowledge, clear communication, and confident courtroom presence. His ability to explain complex legal matters in a straightforward and easy to understand way, is appreciated by all his clients and is also often used when negotiating with police or the prosecution.
Tyson has a track record of successful negotiations with police or the prosecution to have charges reduced and in hundreds of cases, charges withdrawn entirely. This could be attributed to his down-to-earth straightforward manner, and his reputation as a skilled yet reasonable lawyer, which in such circumstances, is very effective.
Before practicing law, Tyson’s career was in hospitality, where he spent 15 years as a licensee and senior manager for some of Sydney’s most successful and recognisable venues. Throughout this time, Tyson gained invaluable insight and experience in management; dealing with police and sitting on numerous liquor accords; violence and security; alcohol, drugs and its impact; and most importantly, listening to customers and coming to understand human nature, developing a very grounded sense of the “real word”. Tyson is not a judgmental or pretentious by nature as some lawyers can come across, however, do not be misled that his easy-going nature means weak or ineffective representation, it is exactly the opposite. Underneath the calm exterior is an extremely competitive and loyal person, who gives his clients the very best representation available and wants to win.
During his legal studies, Tyson served as an Associate to a NSW District Court Judge, gaining valuable insight into judicial decision-making and courtroom strategy. That experience continues to shape his thoughtful, strategic approach to each matter he handles. Following admission to the Supreme Court of NSW, he worked for a large ASX listed legal firm, that practised in Crime, Family Law and Wills and Estates. However, it was and always been Criminal & Traffic Law that were his passion, and has practiced solely in those two areas for his entire legal career.
Tyson’s practice and reputation have been built over a decade on the values of Integrity, Strength and Support. He offers straightforward no nonsense advice, strong representation, trusted legal insight, and compassionate guidance to help his clients navigate even the most difficult legal challenges, at often the most difficult times in their lives.
