Christine has practised exclusively in family law since 2009. Her practice spans the full range of financial and parenting matters, with a particular focus on complex financial disputes involving sophisticated investment structures, tax considerations, and the intersection of family law with equitable claims — including disputes about equitable ownership and third parties. She approaches each matter with a commercial mind, understanding that legal outcomes rarely exist in isolation from her clients’ broader objectives and unique circumstances.
In parenting matters, Christine is experienced in matters where the family dynamics are layered — including matters involving coercive control, family violence argued on Kennon grounds, contravention applications, and where the history between the parties requires careful and considered handling.
Clients describe Christine as a strategist — someone who understands the nuance in a matter, solves problems before they arise, and navigates them through a matter with clarity.
Her recent outcomes include:
- Negotiating a settlement in a $400 million asset pool that restructured common investment vehicles to protect long-term objectives of both parties and avoided crystallisation of $100 million in latent tax.
- Resolving proceedings as to the validity of a pre-nuptial Financial Agreement involving allegations of duress and undue influence and securing relief from standard financial disclosure obligations.
- Successfully resisting a change of residence application in a matter centred on parental alienation allegations, notwithstanding an adverse single expert report and multiple contravention findings.
- Acting for the wholly successful wife in Gadhavi & Gadhavi [2023] FedCFamC1A 117, a widely reported case concerning family violence in a large property pool. The decision, overturned on appeal based on insufficient reasons, has generated significant commentary and remains a significant reference point in the developing jurisprudence around family violence in financial proceedings.
Christine is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, collaboratively trained, and is a member of Collaborative Professionals (NSW) and the Central Sydney Collaborative Forum. She is recognised in the 2026 Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Market as a Recommended Lawyer in parenting matters.
