Michael Wolff, Capital Chambers

Michael Wolff is a New Zealand-qualified barrister and independent arbitrator with over 15 years' experience in construction, commercial, trust, technology and insurance disputes. Based between Asia and New Zealand and is regularly in Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

Michael has been appointed as sole arbitrator in both a domestic ad hoc arbitration in New Zealand and a SIAC-administered dispute seated in Singapore, and has acted as tribunal secretary in an international construction arbitration under the VIAC Rules. He is familiar with the major institutional and model law frameworks, including SIAC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb), an Associate Member of the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ), and a member of the New Zealand Bar Association, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration, and Young SIAC. He is listed on the SIAC List of Rising Arbitrators, the HKIAC List of Arbitrators, and the AIAC Panel of Arbitrators, as well as the DIAC List of Arbitrators and the Oman Commercial Arbitration Center roster.

Michael also maintains an active advocacy practice, appearing before the courts, specialist tribunals, adjudications and arbitrations, in matters spanning contract and tort, property, insolvency, intellectual property and trust disputes.
