Nicola Hayden, Clifford Gouldson Lawyers

Nicola is a Lawyer and Registered Trade Marks Attorney working predominantly in Intellectual Property.

Nicola has worked on many interesting matters protecting clients’ branding and intellectual property both in Australia and internationally. 

Alongside Ben Gouldson and the Clifford Gouldson IP+T team, Nicola also works on IP commercialisation advice including strategies for protecting confidential information, brands and designs, and negotiation of licensing and other commercial agreements. Examples of client work include:

• Acting for various clients in securing and monitoring trade mark portfolios.
• Advising on aspects of packaging and consumer laws.
• Acting for local clients and international corporations in the prosecution of design registrations and certifications.
• Advising clients on trade mark infringement, including sending and responding to cease and desist letters.
• Negotiating consents to trade mark registration and co-existence agreements.
• Advising on intellectual property assignments and licences.
• Securing international trade mark registrations for various clients (such as international game developers, service providers, and manufacturers of food and other goods) either via the Madrid Protocol or in conjunction with our network of international agents.

Nicola holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Australian National University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern Queensland.
