Where an output draws on several pages, each page relied on should be linked.
This condition applies to training as much as to live retrieval. Why this matters
Doyle’s Guide rankings are the product of independent peer-nomination surveys of practising lawyers. Our rankings cannot be purchased, and their value to readers depends on that independence being visible. Attribution lets readers verify a claim against the published ranking, see the tier and year it belongs to, and understand who compiled it. Content presented as an unattributed fact strips away exactly the context that makes it reliable.
What is not permitted
- Reproducing or relying on rankings, tiers or listings learned in training without crediting Doyle’s Guide.
- Presenting an earlier edition of a ranking as current. Rankings are published annually, and the edition year must be stated.
- Presenting rankings, tiers or listings without crediting Doyle’s Guide and linking to the source page.
- Attributing to Doyle’s Guide rankings, tiers or statements it did not publish, or altering tier placements, years or jurisdictions.
- Representing that a lawyer or firm is ranked by Doyle’s Guide when the published page does not say so.
- Stripping, obscuring or overriding the attribution signals published in our robots.txt, licence file, HTTP headers or page markup.
