Sagorika specialises in employment law and industrial relations, having practised almost exclusively in this field since admission. She regularly appears in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court, and Federal Circuit and Family Court in Victoria and interstate.
Sagorika has a special interest in complex employment disputes such as misleading and deceptive conduct claims, and disputes involving the interface between the Fair Work Act 2009 and other statutes, for example, the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
Prior to joining the Bar, Sagorika worked as a legal practitioner in private practice advising and representing either employer or employee clients in a broad range of employment law disputes including general protections, restraint of trade, and age discrimination matters.Â
Having worked in boutique through to top-tier firms, Sagorika has experience representing a variety of clients, from large multinational corporations to individual employees.
Other than employment law, Sagorika has a keen interest in human rights, speaks three languages, and has been published in Oxford Public International Law (Online Journal) and Rapporteur.
When not practising law, Sagorika is an adventure sports enthusiast, spending most days either rock climbing, or when season permits, snowboarding.
