Kim has over 15 years’ experience in litigation, joining HBA in mid-2019 after over 12 years with Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson).
Over her career, she has been seconded into the legal team at one of Australia’s largest supermarkets no less than four times. This has strengthened her understanding of clients’ commercial considerations on a day-to-day basis.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Queensland (2010) and a Bachelor of Laws & Business Management from Queensland University of Technology (2004). She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in late 2004.
Kim specialises in professional indemnity and insurance disputes, as well as workers’ compensation and public liability litigation. She is skilled at helping clients achieve commercial outcomes by providing both legal and strategic advice, in addition to negotiating and advocating on their behalf.
Kim is highly skilled in all stages of litigation including pre-court proceedings in personal injury matters, bringing and defending proceedings, alternative dispute resolution and settlement, disclosure, preparation of expert reports and factual witness statements, interim applications, and trial. Kim also has experience in regulatory investigations and coronial inquiries.
In the past, Kim has acted for insurers, self-insureds, mining companies, local authorities, government-owned corporations, doctors, chiropractors, solicitors, valuers, accountants, engineers and real estate agents.
A can-do attitude and a genuine problem solver, Kim is the definition of a team player – whether that be within our team to achieve exceptional results for our clients, or as an extension of your team while acting on your matters.
