Byron commenced at the Bar in January 2025 after completing the Bar Practice Course in October 2024. Prior to joining the private Bar, Byron served as a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP), gaining extensive experience in handling complex indictable criminal matters, including large-scale drug importations, organised crime, money laundering, fraud, and online child exploitation cases.
Throughout his career, he has appeared in the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts, as well as in appellate jurisdictions. He has worked closely with senior counsel, instructed in trials and appeals, and developed strong advocacy skills across a broad spectrum of legal proceedings. Previous roles at the Queensland Civil & Administrative Tribunal and Helix Legal have also provided valuable experience in administrative and regulatory law.
Byron is passionate about providing clear and effective advocacy, and practices predominantly in criminal law.
