Alex Lopes is the Principal of Lopes Legal, a Sydney-based boutique law firm dedicated to representing individuals in personal injury and compensation matters. He acts exclusively for injured clients, providing strategic, practical and compassionate advice throughout the claims process.
With more than a decade of experience in personal injury law, Alex advises clients across a broad range of matters, including:
- Workers Compensation (NSW, ACT and Queensland)
- Motor Accident (CTP) claims in NSW, Queensland and South Australia
- Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance claims
- Income Protection insurance claims
- Work Injury Damages and common law claims
Prior to establishing Lopes Legal, Alex was a Senior Associate at a national plaintiff law firm, where he managed a substantial practice involving complex and high-value compensation claims. He has extensive experience in litigation, mediations, settlement negotiations and proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission and the courts.
Alex is recognised for providing clear, commercially focused advice while maintaining a client-centred approach. He regularly acts for clients with serious physical and psychological injuries and is committed to securing the best possible outcomes while guiding clients through what is often one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Alex is actively involved in the legal profession and currently serves as a member of both the Law Society of New South Wales Injury Compensation Committee and the Law Society of New South Wales Costs Committee, contributing to the development of personal injury and legal costs practice in New South Wales.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). Alex is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
