Rebecca Badenoch is an Accredited Family Law Specialist, Nationally Accredited Mediator and Arbitrator, is trained in Collaborative Law and as an Independent Children’s Lawyer.
Professional history
A proud co-founder of Culshaw Miller Badenoch Lawyers in 2018, a boutique specialist family law firm in Melbourne, Rebecca was admitted to practice in 1993 and also signed the High Court Roll at that time. She became an Accredited Family Law Specialist in 1998, a Collaborative Lawyer in 2007, an Independent Children’s Lawyer in 2012 and a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Arbitrator in 2018.
Rebecca has practiced almost exclusively in family law for 25 years. Since 1997, Rebecca has been the partner in charge of various large and well regarded family law teams, all in Melbourne.
In addition to holding various management roles at these firms, Rebecca has also been a member of Law Institute Family Law Section committees, including the Courts Practice and Property sections. She is also a member of the Law Council of Australia’s Family Law Section and a member of AIFLAM.
Experience
Rebecca has in excess of 25 years’ experience practising in Family Law, having achieved specialist accreditation in 1998. She provides legal, strategic and practical advice on all aspects of family law, including divorce, property settlements, binding financial agreements, children’s matters, same sex relationships, child support and spousal maintenance. Rebecca is also able to assist with mediation and/or arbitration, having first obtained her qualification as a mediator in 1998.
Memberships and appointments
Rebecca is a current member of the Law Council of Australia – Family Law Section, AIFLAM, the Law Institute of Victoria and various other professional bodies. She has served, from time to time, as a Committee Member on the Courts Practice committee and Property committee of the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria. She is also a proud long-time sponsor of and competitor in the Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta.
