Kimi is a Principal in Maurice Blackburn's Class Actions department, and has over 15 years of experience as a specialist class action litigator, having acted in and contributed to the success of some of the nation’s largest and most complex class actions, including the Kilmore and Murrindindi Black Saturday Bushfire Class Actions, the Air Cargo Cartel Class Action and the Crown Resorts Shareholder Class Action.
Kimi currently has carriage of the Foreign Exchange Cartel Class Action and the Apple & Google misuse of market power class actions.
The Foreign Exchange Cartel Class Action is being brought in relation to alleged price-fixing in the foreign exchange market. In this case, Kimi acts on behalf of a broad cross-section of Australian businesses that trade internationally and some of the country’s major investment funds that have been exposed to, and damaged by, the alleged price-fixing behaviour.
Kimi has a strong history of running cases that hold powerful organisations to account for mass wrongdoing, and played a pivotal role in resolving the $500million Kilmore Black Saturday class action for thousands of Victorian bushfire victims.
Whether it has been through her work on cartel class actions (Air Cargo) or shareholder class actions (Centro, Aristocrat, Crown Resorts), or her work in helping stop the Muckaty nuclear waste dump in the Northern Territory, Kimi has spent her professional career taking a stand against all manner of corporate misconduct.
Kimi also holds an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, and as such, brings specialist financial, economic and data analytical skills to add to her legal expertise.
