Leading Energy & Resources Law Firms – NSW, 2012

Graeme Dennis, Clayton Utz

With some 40% of the individuals listed as leading energy and resources lawyers in NSW having relocated their practice to a new firm environment in the past two years it’s been a time of significant change in the NSW energy and resources legal market.  That said, despite a significant rearrangement of the pieces on the chessboard the game has only changed marginally.

Other than those whose focus is both electricity and the regulatory aspects of energy matters Australia’s largest economy fails to produce enough energy and resources legal work to sufficiently feed its market participants.  That said activity wise the outlook for the state’s energy and resources appears positive.  Proposed privatization of energy companies, and predicted upswing in locally generated work and the continued flow of interstate work all point to a rosy future.
